The following projects were undertaken as part of NCETA's 2025-26 workplan (funded by Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing):

- Conduct a desktop review of family, domestic and sexual violence resources and training for AOD workforce
- Scoping review of barriers and enablers to take home naloxone access since 2016
- Mapping Opioid Dependence Treatment (ODT) Prescriber Training and Authorisation across Australia
- Investigate heavy drinking among women and treatment practices
- Identify current patterns of polydrug use
- Profile people who drink in excess of Australian guidelines
- Inform the development of appropriate messaging and mechanisms to reduce parental supply of alcohol to teenagers
- Investigate effective drug prevention and early intervention initiatives for young people
- Identify methamphetamine supply in rural and remote areas
- Examine AOD-related beliefs of Australian social workers
- Investigate consumers’ awareness and influence on alcohol product labels
- Influence of patterns of bullying influences substance use among young people
- Identify medicinal cannabis use by employed Australians
- Update estimates for AOD-related absenteeism in Australia
- Evaluate the role of psychological-based interventions in behaviour change
- Assess the impact of life transitions on alcohol consumption patterns
